The idiots at Coles (in Australia coles.com.au) like sending SPAM to people in the USA

TO: Coles Online Customer Service online.customercare@coles.com.au

It looks like the idiots(in my opinion) at Coles(in Australia) can't seem to figure out how to actually remove someone from their mailing list. Their little legal disclaimer claims they need 5 days to take you off their mailing list, I've given them MUCH more time then that following each of the multiple requests I have made.

Now I know that normally the best thing to do is ignore the SPAM, but while they may be in Australia, they do appear to be a company that might actually try to follow the requests of someone who wants off their junk-email list. And based on the claims of most large companies, my guess is that they on a regular basis tell everyone that they can, how they "LOVE their customers" and only want "Happy People" on their mailing list, and that of course they remove everyone who requests it.

I just thought that I would make a searchable entry that stated otherwise. This way if they, like many companies, try to tell someone that they are the only person experiencing a problem getting removed from their mailing list. That person will have my statement(of my personal experience) to the contrary to point to.

Who knows, maybe Coles will actually read this and contact me about getting my email address removed from their junk-email list. I doubt it, but hey lets give them one more chance.

If they have been SPAMing you also, why not add a comment to this post and let the world know. Also if you link to it, that will make it easier to find in the search results.

Paul - can you send me a copy of the emails you are getting - I'll find out which database you are in and why the removal hasn't happened yet. Email heath (dot) eddy (at)coles(dot)com(dot)au

I guess it pays to have a site that does well at getting it's keywords into the search engines, or in this case having added a function that broadcasts my posts titles to Twitter.

Now time to dig up a few old emails and my earlier request, pass them along and see what happens.

Okay, I've dug up a sampling of the SPAM (first? , last and middle) and forwarded it along with one of my attempts to get removed. Now lets see if after approx 9 months (Started mid-November 2008) I will finally get removed from All their lists.

Got your email about having my email address being totally removed from your email system. I'll give it a little while and see how it goes. And if it comes back, you bet I'll let you know :-)
