Until then, come back each day to receive updates from the North Pole and to discover new surprises in the Kids' Countdown.
And you can get a little history about this from Wikipedia. And for those of you who prefer making phone calls the official hotline: 1-877-HI-NORAD Google Analytics also has some details about this tracking program.
Track Santa in 3D via Google Earth
In addition to tracking Santa on the NORAD Tracks Santa homepage, you can also track his flight in Google Earth.
To do so, you will need two things:
- The Google Earth application
- The NORAD Tracks Santa file for Google Earth
To get ready ahead of time, click on the green button (Follow link) to download the Google Earth application. Then, return to this page Editor: (tentative - may change) on Dec. 24th and click on the red button that will appear in the middle of the page to download the special Santa Tracking file.
Once you've downloaded both the application and the special file, you'll be able to track Santa in Google Earth!
